Every painting evolves differently: some become quite descriptive of the place as it is, while others develop in a more atmospheric or evocative direction, recreating the sense or experience of being by the sea, or the mood or atmosphere of a prticular time of day.
Best known for his paintings of the sea and the coast, Patrick has had twenty-two solo exhibitions to date, with his artwork being exhibited in Ireland, The UK and The United States.
"The sea and the coast are an ongoing source of inspiration fot the paintings I create, and the places where land meets sea is a recurring theme and motif in my artwork.
The coast and the structures located there relate to the individual on many levels: as places experienced directly, yet also as places which exist in the human mind somewhat autonomously, as memories, or also on an imaginative or metaphorical level as well.
